Forbes visits Denver breweries

John Giuffo of Forbes quaffed all of the local IPA that he could while in Denver.

No craft brew fan’s visit to Denver is complete without a visit to the Wynkoop Brewing Company – the epicenter of Colorado’s, and arguably the country’s, craft brewing community. Colorado’s first brewpub, opened in 1988 by a small group that included now-governor John Hickenlooper, is known nationwide as a trailblazer, taking advantage of brewing laws initially loosened almost a decade earlier by President Jimmy Carter. They touched off a craft brewing revolution that has exploded in popularity, and remains robust – with new businesses opening all the time all over the state.

Wynkoop still offers a wide and satisfying array of more than fifteen different beers, including three different IPAs. Three! Having learned my lesson from the previous day’s intoxicating lunch, I learned my lesson and ordered a sample flight of their three hoppiest options.
