Denver School of Nursing excels in getting men into nursing

Located in Lodo, the Denver School of Nursing has the highest percentage of male nursing students in the state, as Dean and Director Dr. Shelley Morriston recently won an award for his commitment to educating male nurses.

Dr. Shelley Moriston, dean and director of nursing education programs, Denver School of Nursing, has been inducted into the Society of Luther Christman Fellows, founded by the American Assembly of Men in Nursing (AAMN).
 
"This is very significant for me as I have spent much of my nursing career advancing opportunities for men in nursing," Moriston said. "I am proud of the fact that Denver School of Nursing has been able to recruit the highest percentage of male nursing students in the state and our male students represent 25 percent of our student body."
 
In 2012, Moriston was named dean of nursing education programs at Denver School of Nursing. In this role, he has redesigned and developed curricula, as well as led the college through multiple accreditation processes with outstanding achievements.
