In LoDo, TrackVia looks to double staff in 2013

After closing a Series B round of $7.1 million in August 2012, TrackVia is on track to grow rapidly providing businesses with custom, easy-to-use apps.

"We're looking to double the business in 2013," says CEO Peter Khanna. That means doubling revenue, customers and employees. Currently, the company is at 30 employees and 1,500 customers.

"We think we'll hit 50 employees by the end of the year," Khanna says.

Khanna describes TrackVia, founded in 2007, as "an application platform for business owners." The hook? You don't have to know how to code to maintain the system.

TrackVia's clients include businesses in a wide swath of vertical markets and TrackVia's apps usually are designed with a specific department's needs in mind, including CRM, call center management and product design. That means integration with ERP and other enterprise systems and easy maintenance and collaboration.

"You'd be surprised at how many departments are still using Excel," Khanna says. "But who maintains it? It becomes an updating nightmare. Beyond three people, you have to look for something more modern."

Underpinning the growth is "the consumerization of IT." In this context, speed is critical.

"That's TrackVia's bread and butter," Khanna says noting that TrackVia's apps can be up and running in seven to 30 days. "People get bogged down trying to pick a system and have it just right on day one."

After TrackVia gets a toehold in one department at a company, it usually takes off company-wide.

"We get internal champions," Khanna says. "At one customer, we have 53 departmental applications running."
